10 persons have been confirmed dead while 12 others sustained injuries in an auto crash on Ringing-Dutse Road in Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Jigawa State, Ibrahim Yahaya, confirmed the incident in Thursday, January 18, 2024.
Yahaya said the accident, involving a Volkswagen Golf car and a Toyota bus, occurred at Gidan Garke village at about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

He said the accident occurred when the two vehicles conveying 22 passengers had a head-on-collusion as a result of wrongful overtaking.
He added that the FRSC officers, who responded to a distress call on the accident, have since taken the victims to the General Hospital in Ringim.
Yahaya said the FRSC personnel could not identify the registration numbers of the two vehicles as they were burnt beyond recognition.
