15-year-old girl stabbed to death in UK

A 15-year-old girl has been stabbed to death in Croydon, South London in the United Kingdom.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to Wellesley Road in south London at around 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, adding that the girl died at the scene near the Whitgift shopping centre at about 9.20 a.m.

A white tent and a stationary number 60 bus are within the police cordon, while footage posted on social media earlier showed police cars and ambulances surrounding the vehicle.

Police said a teenager was tracked and an arrest was made around an hour and 15 minutes after the stabbing.

The Chief Superintendent, Andy Brittain, told SkyNews: “At this early stage we believe that he may have known her.
