No fewer than 160 golfers in different categories are to participate in the 14th Edition of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)-sponsored Governor’s Golf Tournament scheduled to tee off on Saturday in Abuja.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the CBN Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Osita Nwanisobi, the one-day event will feature golfers in men’s and ladies’ categories.
The event will take place at the IBB Golf and Country Club, Abuja.
Nwanisobi said that the objective of the tournament was to create a recreational atmosphere for distinguished personalities in government, organised private sector as well as for elder statesmen and members of the diplomatic corps.
He said that the tournament had become an important feature in the calendar of the IBB Golf Club.
Nwanisobi said that the tournament would be held in strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
According to the schedule, all competing golfers will tee off at the same time from different points on the golf course.
Male golfers will compete in Division 1 (handicap 0-12), Division 2 (Handicap 13–18), Division 3 (Handicap 18–24), and Gross.
The female golfers will compete in Division 1 (Handicap 0-20) and Division 2 (Handicap 21–30), among others.
