The Ondo State Police command has arrested two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) for allegedly raping a 20-year-old student.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, disclosed the arrest via a statement issued on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Ayanlade said preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was invited to the home of her long-time friend, Queen Sodo, a 19-year-old student of AAUA.
Ayanlade said the victim trusted their long relationship, which began in secondary school and continued into university.
Ayanlade said the victim accepted a drink given by her friend, but later discovered to have been drugged, leaving her unconscious.
“After noticing the victim had become incapacitated, Queen Sodo reportedly left the room, invited her male accomplice, and kept watch while the crime occurred,” he said.

The police spokesman said a neighbour rescued the victim after hearing unusual noise from the room and found her unconscious with the male suspect.
He explained that the victim received medical attention and was later referred to a specialist hospital, where she is recovering.
“Both suspects have confessed to their involvement and described their specific roles in the crime,” Ayanlade said.
Ayanlade said the students remain in police custody and will be transferred to the Gender Desk Office for further investigation and prosecution.
