2 drowned, 7 rescued as boat capsizes in Jigawa

Two persons drowned while seven others were rescued after a boat carrying them capsized at Miga Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Lawan Adam, who made this known via a statement issued on Tuesday, said the incident occurred when nine farmers were returning from home between Galauchime to Sansani village in Miga LGA of the state.

“On reaching a river, they boarded a canoe paddled by one Ado Dan Maguga to sail to Sansani but unfortunately it capsised due to the rain and windstorm.
