Tragedy struck the Kano State House of Assembly on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, when two serving lawmakers were confirmed dead.
The lawmaker representing Kano Municipal Local Government Area, Sarki Daneji, died barely minutes after the news broke of the death of his colleague, Aminu Sa’adu, who represented Ungoggo Local Government Area of Kano State.

The confirmation of Daneji’s death was made public by Sanusi Bature, spokesperson of Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, who announced it via a post on his official Facebook page.
