No fewer than 20 people have sustained various degrees of injuries following a tanker explosion at a petrol station in Rigasa area of Kaduna.
Confirming the incident on Thursday, the Director of the Kaduna State Fire Service, Paul Aboi, said among those injured were five federal firefighters, some personnel of Kaduna Vigilance Service, and passers-by.
The director said the injured fire service personnel are currently receiving treatment at the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital in Kaduna.

Aboi disclosed that the tanker was offloading petrol at the station when the incident occurred on Wednesday.
Aboi blamed the incident on negligence on the part of the filling station, saying the offloading of the petrol shouldn’t have been done in the afternoon.
