2023: Ogun APC counsels candidates on electioneering

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged candidates vying for various positions on the platform of the party to ensure a harmonised campaign in the state.

The APC chairman in Ogun State, Yemi Sanusi, gave the admonition via a statement issued on Saturday.

Sanusi, who noted that presidential and National Assembly candidates are now allowed to campaign in the state, said the executive council of the Ogun APC was in the process of constituting its campaign committee.

The statement read: “In line with the timetable of activities released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the candidates for national elections (President and National Assembly) are now allowed to commence campaign activities towards the 2023 general election.

“However, to align the campaign programmes of the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State with the national campaign timetable of the party and ensure a harmonised and orderly campaign in the state, the Executive Council of Ogun State APC is in the process of constituting its Campaign Committee.

“The campaign committee will liaise with the National Headquarters, the Presidential Campaign Council, and the Governor to draw a comprehensive campaign timetable for the State.

“In the meantime, the candidates are encouraged to continue their consultations with various stakeholders, electorate and interest groups ahead of the campaign flag-off.

“Consequently, the Ogun State Chapter of the party hereby directs that all candidates wait for further directives with respect to campaign flag-off activities. All candidates and indeed all members of the party in the state should be guided accordingly.
