2023 Presidency: Osinbajo’s supporters begin feedback campaign

The 2023 presidential project of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gathered momentum on Saturday as Osinbajo Vanguard, an NGO, inaugurated its Feedback campaign in local dialects across 350 ethnic groups in Nigeria.

The event was organised by the group in collaboration with The Progressive Project (TPP) and Progressive Consolidation Group (PCG), which comprised volunteers canvassing Osinbajo’s presidential ambition.

Director of Media and Public Relations of the organisation, Mr. Joseph Abamezele, in his address at the ceremony in Abuja, said the feedback is in the organisations’ quest to find a leader that would consolidate on President Muhammadu Buhari’s achievements in 2023.

The feedback is tagged “Osinbajo welcome”.

Abamezele, however, noted that it was a survey carried out by the Vanguard on over 350 ethnic groups in Nigeria and the result represented views of Nigerians on Osinbajo.

“We know politicians and we know they have been going about claiming that people are calling on them to run; people here speak to us in their local dialect and do not want to be impersonated.

“We cannot allow people to confuse us for agents of self-calling politicians. We are true volunteers who bring the message back from true Nigerians.

“The feedback we have gotten and we are getting from the over 350 ethnic groups in Nigeria has further confirmed that Osinbajo is loved, trustworthy, and possess the skills needed in modern Nigeria,” he said.

He explained that the organisation carried out the feedback in a manner whereby people expressed their trust and hope on Osinbajo, saying the expressions informed the official inauguration of the feedback.

“Nigerians speaking to us in their mother tongue is a beauty to behold; they wonder why Osinbajo is yet to yield to the popular call to run for president in 2023 and have asked us to bring their voices too.

“For the first time in recent history, people from various ethnic and religious background are speaking with one voice in various dialects, demanding for Osinbajo because he has shown good qualities of leadership in various capacities.

“Especially in areas of assisting the President in his quest to alleviate poverty among Nigerians, such as Npower, direct-cash transfer, ease of business and ability to mediate in industrial disputes whenever called upon endeared him to Nigerians.

“His integrity, intelligence, composure, trustworthiness, calmness, technocratic, and sense of justice is no match.

“We want to use this opportunity to beg for an understanding of others, who are also eminently qualified and interested in the 2023 presidency, to please concede such interest to the Nigerian people,” he added.

The director noted that Osinbajo’s ambition was as a result of calls by Nigerians and not of himself, adding that like any other Nigerian, he had no choice than to heed to their clarion calls.

He, however, reaffirmed TPP/PCG’s commitment towards promotion of the country’s ethnic groups in local dialects, for Osinbajo to vie for presidential in 2023.

The director, however, debunked the rumour making the round that Osinbajo had since opened a campaign office in Abuja for his presidential ambition.
