2027: Kano PDP distances itself from ADC coalition

The Kano State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has firmly rejected any alliance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or other political coalitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Gidauniya, Kano, on Thursday, the state PDP chairman, Yusuf Ado Kibiya, said the party remains loyal to its platform and will not be part of any coalition or movement outside the PDP.

“We categorically distance the Kano PDP from any breakaway elements forming coalitions under the ADC or any other platform,” Kibiya stated.

“This group does not represent the values or interests of our party.

“We urge our members to remain focused and loyal.”

Kibiya, who was flanked by members of the state executive committee and delegates from all 44 local government areas, emphasized that the party had successfully completed its internal elections at ward, local government, and state levels.

“This milestone reflects our organizational strength and dedication to democratic principles. Our leadership is now firmly in place and ready to serve the party’s objectives,” he said.

He noted that the party had concluded a comprehensive mobilisation and repositioning drive, aimed at deepening grassroots support and enhancing operational capacity.

Kibiya pledged the state chapter’s full loyalty to the PDP’s national leadership, assuring that Kano PDP would fully align with party directives and initiatives.

“Our unity is unshaken. We are committed to delivering quality leadership and effective governance that meets the needs of our constituents,” he added.

The statement comes amid growing speculation about emerging coalitions across party lines as preparations for the 2027 elections begin to gather momentum.
