The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State for the 2027 election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has urged party members across Ogun West Senatorial District to close ranks, welcome new entrants into the party and strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the next general election.
Adeola made the call on Wednesday during the Ogun West APC Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion in Ilaro, Ogun State.
The meeting, which drew party leaders, stakeholders and members from Imeko-Afon, Ipokia, Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa North and Yewa South local government areas, was organised to deepen consultations, strengthen party unity and prepare members for the 2027 governorship election.
Addressing the gathering, the senator stressed that the APC’s continued electoral success would depend on unity, inclusiveness and the active participation of all members.
He urged party leaders to ensure the seamless integration of defectors from other political parties, insisting that every committed member should be given equal opportunity to contribute to the party’s growth.
“The strength of our party lies in our unity, not in our differences. As our party continues to grow, we must open our doors and hearts to those who have chosen to join us. Every genuine member who embraces the ideals of the APC deserves equal respect and an opportunity to contribute,” Adeola said.
He called on members to put aside personal interests, avoid actions capable of creating divisions and work together towards what he described as “Operation Deliver Your Polling Unit.”
According to him, no member should be left behind in the party’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 polls.
The meeting was attended by several APC leaders, including the party’s apex leader in Ogun West, Chief Muftau Ajibola; Ogun State Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Minister of State for Health and Social Services, Dr Kunle Salako; former Deputy Governor, Salmot Badru; former Speakers of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi and Olakunle Oluomo, among other party stakeholders.
The consultative meeting forms part of Adeola’s ongoing engagement with APC leaders and members across Ogun West as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
