A 24-year-old man, Joshua Kosoro, has committed suicide at Umuogodo Akpu in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the incident on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
Ukandu said the incident occurred on Sunday, November 16.
The police spokesman stated that Kosoro, who was based in Lagos, came to Ebonyi State and told his relatives that he was hearing strange voices.

Ukandu noted: “He said that the voices talk to him and always ask him to do strange things.
“The relatives went out to look for a solution to the issue. As everyone was away from the house, he stayed back. Before they could come back, they saw that he had hanged himself to death.
“The officers of the command visited the scene, and the body was taken to the hospital, where he was certified dead.”
Ukandu added that an investigation into the incident had commenced.
