Nigerian music icon, Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has opened up about his troubled marriage to actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, describing the relationship as a form of “bondage.”

In a snippet from an upcoming episode of the +234 Mzansi Podcast, co-hosted by Nigerian comedians Nedu and Acapella alongside South African media personality Kifilwe, 2Baba spoke candidly about the emotional turmoil he endured during the marriage.

“This thing wey dem call ‘living in bondage’ is real.

There were some people who were ready to kill me,” he said, hinting at the intense challenges he faced while married to Annie.

2Baba and Annie tied the knot in May 2012 after years of dating.

Their union produced two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, but was repeatedly marred by controversies, including allegations of infidelity and frequent emotional drama on social media.

The singer officially announced their separation on January 26, 2025, sparking widespread reactions from fans and the public.

Shortly after the announcement, 2Baba went public with a new relationship with Natasha Osawuru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly.

The relationship quickly advanced, culminating in a traditional wedding held in Benue State, reportedly attended by close family and his kinsmen.

Meanwhile, Annie has remained silent on the matter, as many await her response to 2Baba’s revelation that their marriage felt like bondage.
