No fewer than 30 students of Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, have scored 300 and above in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The students of the Catholic secondary school scored between 300 and 355 in the recently released 2024 UTME results.
The feat was disclosed by a cleric, Reverend Father Jude Okeh, via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, May 3, 2024.
“In the midst of JAMB saga, we have this from one of the Catholic schools…. there is a lot more of that,” Okeh wrote.
According to the list, two students, Fasesin Ayomiposi and Kunle-Olawepo Ayomikun, emerged as the highest scorers with 355.
Other top performers include Adelodun Oluwadarasimi and Ayejuto Daniel with 341, and Idris Jamaaldeen with 333.

Others include Ebiegberi Joseph, 319; Adetola Omotoke, 319; Adigun Oluwaferanmi, 317; Atibioke Omolade, 317; Osunbande Adegoke, 315; Aliyu Muhizat, 314; Daramola Tunmise, 314; Ogunkeyede Wereniseoluwa, 313; Abolarin John, 312; Jenyo Bernard, 312; Folorunsho Stephen, 311; Enoch Oluwole, 311; Elegbede Oluwarotimi, 305; Bamidele Daniel, 300; Olaitan-Rafiu Damisola, 300; and Onah Francis, 300.
The Star recalls that JAMB released the 2024 UTME results on Monday, April 29.
The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, while announcing the release of the results, disclosed that 8,401 candidates representing 0.5 per cent scored 300 and above, while 77,070 candidates representing 4.2 per cent scored 250 and above.
Oloyede said 439,974 candidates representing 24 per cent scored 200 and above, while 1,402,490 representing 76 per cent scored below 200.
The JAMB boss revealed that 1,989,668 candidates registered for the examinations held in 118 towns in 774 Computer Based Test (CBT) centres.
Oloyede said out of the registered candidates, 1,904,109 sat for the examination while 80,810 were absent.
