Four members of the House of Representatives elected on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) have dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, announced the lawmakers’ defection during plenary in Abuja on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
The lawmakers are Chinedu Okere (Owerri municipal/Owerri north/Owerri west federal constituency), Mathew Donatus (Kaura federal constituency of Kaduna), Akiba Bassey (Calabar municipal/Odukpani federal constituency of Cross River), and Esosa Iyawe (Oredo federal constituency of Edo).
