A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State has remanded a 42-year-old man, Emmanuel Egbosimba, in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling his 19-year-old daughter.
The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court on Tuesday that the offence was committed between 2020, when the victim was 14- year-old, and 2025.
Ademigbuji said the 42-year-old man had been sexually molesting his daughter since the death of his wife.
Ademigbuji told the court that all efforts for the victim to free herself from her father failed as he threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident.

The prosecutor added the girl later reported to the police, and Egbosimba was arrested.
The offence, according to the prosecutor, contravened section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, L. A Owolabi, did not take the defendant ‘s plea.
Owolabi ordered Egbosimba to be remanded in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions on November 17.
