A Chief Magistrates Court sitting in the Badagry area of Lagos State has remanded a 71-year-old man, Dumashi Sabo, who pleaded guilty to defiling a 12-year-old girl, in a correctional centre in the state.
Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya ordered the remand of the man following a guilty plea entered by Sabo on Monday, July 8, 2024.
The prosecution counsel, Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 2 p.m. at Zongo, Seme Border in Badagry on July 1.

Adeosun stressed that the defendant defiled the 12-year-old girl.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes the provisions of Sections 261 and 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Adekomaiya, thereafter, adjourned the case until July 15 for facts and sentencing.
