No fewer than eight persons have been trapped after a building collapsed in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.
The incident occured at Popo-Giwa, Mosalasi Gogoro in llorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Eyewitnesses listed among those trapped in the collapded two storey building to include nursing mothers and children.
Ogun govt issues flood alert, orders residents in vulnerable areas to relocate
Personnel of the Kwara State Fire Service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), and residents of the area are currently carrying out rescue operation.
Also on ground at the site were officials of the State Emergency Management Agency.
