A 40-year-old man, Mohammed Badmus, has been killed by a security guard in the Okinni area of Osun State.
The incident was disclosed via a statement issued on Saturday by the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola.
Opalola said the security guard shot the victim with a dane gun, noting that he died instantly.
She stated that the case was reported at the Dada Estate Divisional Police Headquarters by the Chairman of Ibuowo Estate in Okinni, Babatunde Olumide.

The police spokesperson noted that the suspect has been arrested, adding that the gun was recovered from him.
Opalola said the corpse of the victim has been deposited at a mortuary.
She added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
