Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, his Oyo, Benue, and Enugu State counterparts, Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, have met over the crisis rocking the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Also at the meeting held in Enugu on Sunday was Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.
Although the details of the meeting could not be immediately ascertained, it was gathered that it may not be unconnected with the crisis rocking the PDP ahead of the 2023 general election.
Governor Wike has been at loggerheads with the PDP National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, over calls for the latter’s resignation.
The governor and his loyalists had called for the resignation of Ayu as a condition to campaign for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2023 polls.
