The Kaduna State Government has dismissed any plan to implement five per cent tax on tuition fees as being circulated on social media.
The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) Head of Corporate Communication, Zakari Mohammed, made this known via a statement issued on Wednesday.
Mohammed, however, urged members of the public to regard the information as fake, adding that the state government has no plan of implementing any five per cent tax on tuition fees.

“The public is hereby notified that the said article is not from KADIRS.
“The service, therefore, urges the public to disregard such information as it’s fake and a blatant lie,” he said.
The KADIRS spokesperson further called on the people of Kaduna State to consider the misinformation as the work of mischief makers and saboteurs.
“The mischief makers and saboteurs are only out to smear the progress achieved by the state government through the revenue service in deepening voluntary tax compliance in the state,” Mohammed added.
