The Department of State Services (DSS) has given the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited 48 hours to end fuel scarcity in Nigeria.
DSS told NNPC and oil marketers to make Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) known as petrol available for Nigerians.
The secret police declared that fuel scarcity is detrimental to the security of the country.
DSS spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanya, said the agency would active its activate operations across the country if NNPC fails to comply with the directive.
He spoke with journalists on Thursday, December 8, 2022, after a three-hour meeting with the stakeholders in the petroleum sector in Abuja.
Afunanya said the NNPC told the stakeholders that there is enough petroleum product to serve Nigerians during and after the festive season.
