Some unknown hoodlums have set ablaze a section of the Eleme Local Government Area secretariat in Rivers State.
It was gathered that the secretariat was set ablaze in the early hours of Monday, October 7, 2024.
The newly elected chairman of the local government, Brain Gokpa, was said to have gone to the council secretariat alongside his councillors and supporters and discovered that a few of the buildings in the council had been set ablaze.

IGP orders reopening of Rivers LG secretariats
The Rivers State Police Command has however yet to speak on the incident as of press time.
The incident comes two days after the Rivers Local Government Elections which were swept by the Action Peoples Party (APP).
