The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 25 suspected internet fraudsters at a cybercrime training centre in Benin, the capital of Edo State.
The EFCC disclosed this in a statement on Friday, January 17, 2025.
The anti-graft agency said the suspected internet fraudsters were apprehended by the operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the commission on Thursday, January 16.

It stated that the suspects’ arrest at their hideout was triggered by credible intelligence that indicated the apartment being used as a yahoo academy or training school for internet-related fraud and other fraudulent activities.
The EFCC listed items recovered from the suspects to include six exotic cars, laptops, and phones.
“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” it added.
