Beatrice Ekweremadu, wife of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has been released from prison in the United Kingdom.
Sources said Beatrice regained her freedom on Tuesday, same day she arrived Abuja, Nigeria.
Mrs. Ekweremadu, her husband and Dr. Obinna Obeta were sentenced for organ harvesting.
The couple and the medical doctor were accused of attempt to harvest an organ of a Nigerian boy hawker to fix that of ailing Sophia, Ekweremadu’s daughter.
Senator Ekweremadu bagged 10 years sentencing while Beatrice bagged five years.
