he Ogun State Police Command has arrested a notorious kidnapper, Wasiu Oloyede, at the Odo Pako area of Ota on Sunday.
Oloyede, identified as the leader of a kidnapping syndicate, was involved in the abduction of a soldier in the Alagbado area of Lagos last Friday.
During the incident, the gang dispossessed the soldier of his military uniform, identity card, ATM cards, and mobile phone.
The victim, however, managed to escape from captivity.
In a dramatic twist, Oloyede later attempted to impersonate a soldier using the stolen uniform. He approached a vigilante member, trying to overpower him and seize his dane gun.
The plan backfired, and the vigilante raised an alarm, leading to Oloyede’s arrest.
Police authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the gang still at large.
