Spain have advanced to the final of the European Championship for the first time, beating Germany 1-0 in the semi-final of Euro 2025 on Wednesday night.
Spain controlled play throughout the match but could not find a goal in normal time.
Aitana Bonmati finally broke through in the 113th minute, beating Ann-Katrin Berger at her near post.
Spain will face England in the final on Sunday, a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final, which the Spaniards won 1-0.

Bonmati said after the match that targeting Ann-Katrin Berger’s near post was planned in advance.
She said: “With the technical team, the analysts and the goalkeeping coach, we studied Berger, and we realised sometimes she left the near post free, so I didn’t think twice. I didn’t want it to go to penalties.
“When the ball went in, I started running crazily. I saw the bench on their feet, so I went to them. We work together for these moments. I wanted to share it with the squad, a beautiful group.”
