The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of voter registration in Kebbi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abubakar Dambo Sarkin Pawa, revealed that the online registration portal will open on August 18, 2025, while physical registration will begin on August 25, 2025, and will be conducted on all working days across the state.
He urged eligible citizens, especially those who have recently turned 18, to take advantage of the opportunity to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He warned that underage registration and multiple registrations are criminal offences and will be met with serious consequences.
Sarkin Pawa also noted that over two million voters were registered in Kebbi during the 2023 elections, with more than 80% having collected their PVCs. The new registration exercise, he added, also applies to individuals with damaged PVCs or those who have changed their place of residence.
