Suspected kidnappers have abducted Mr. Ibrahim Ishaq Sani, a staff member of the University of Abuja, from the institution’s staff quarters located in Giri, within the Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, sparking a swift response from operatives of the Joint Task Force, Operation SWEEP, under Sector 1 of the FCT Command.
Despite the prompt deployment of security personnel to the scene following a distress call, the abductors had already escaped with the victim before their arrival.
Security forces immediately launched a coordinated search operation in the surrounding area in an attempt to rescue the victim and track down the kidnappers.
However, no contact with the suspects has been established so far.
The incident has heightened concerns over the security of lives and property in the FCT, particularly in university communities.
