The by-election followed the death of Abdulmalik Musa of the APC in May 2024.

In his remarks, Misi thanked the electorate for their support and promised to deliver effective representation by facilitating projects beneficial to the constituency.

Former Deputy Governor of Adamawa State and APC stalwart, Martins Babale, hailed the poll as credible and peaceful, while commending the Federal Government for commencing rehabilitation of the long-abandoned Ganye–Bulo–Jada road.
