A Justin Bieber look-alike has been handed a lifetime ban from XS Nightclub in Las Vegas after pretending to be the Canadian pop star and performing on stage.
The impersonator, identified as Dylan Desclos, reportedly arrived with an “advance team” that helped him gain access to the venue. He posed for photos with fans before mounting the stage to perform Bieber’s hit track Sorry.
Club officials said the ruse was quickly discovered, and Desclos was removed from the stage and permanently barred from entering the nightclub.
Desclos, who describes himself on Instagram as a Justin Bieber look-alike, has embraced his resemblance to the Grammy-winning artist. Bieber himself recently released a new album titled Swag.
The incident highlights the growing trend of celebrity impersonation, which has also gained traction in Nigeria. Several local stars, including Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Portable, and Odumodublvck, have look-alikes who create social media content, make paid appearances, and sometimes even perform their songs.
In 2023, a Davido look-alike staged a concert where he performed the singer’s tracks for fans, while in 2022, Canadian rapper Drake reportedly issued a cease-and-desist order to an impersonator dubbed “Fake Drake.”
While some celebrities ignore these impersonations, others view them as damaging and have taken steps to clamp down on the practice.
