The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, cast his vote in Saturday’s Local Government elections in Rivers State.
Wike’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka, on X, shared the video of the minister exercising his franchise on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
Wike, a former two-term governor of Rivers State, voted at Polling Unit 007, Ward 9, in Rumuepirikom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Late arrival of materials, low voter turnout mar Rivers LG election
The election is being held in all 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State.
This comes six months after the Supreme Court nullified the October 2024 council polls conducted by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.
