The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced it collected ₦215 billion in August 2025 through the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu, despite reported network challenges.
Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, credited the milestone to growing confidence in the platform, continuous system improvements, and the resilience of officers who kept operations running amid technical hitches. He praised importers, exporters, and licensed agents for their patience and support, describing their contributions as vital to Nigeria’s economy.
Olomu noted that several stakeholder engagement sessions, personally led by Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, had boosted trust in the system. He assured that the NCS ICT/Modernisation Department had been directed to enhance service delivery by promptly resolving hitches, addressing user complaints, and providing technical support.
The Controller expressed optimism that B’Odogwu would soon exceed expectations, positioning itself as a dependable, homegrown ICT platform capable of revolutionising trade in Nigeria.
“Our collection of ₦215 billion using the B’Odogwu platform confirms progress in our journey to build a reliable system for trade by Nigerians and for all those doing import, export, and excise business in Nigeria,” Olomu said, describing the feat as a “collective victory” for stakeholders and officers alike.
