The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by Senator Aminu Tambuwal that there is a national consensus to stop President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, in a statement on Sunday, described Tambuwal’s remarks as another failed attempt by the opposition to distort reality, insisting that Nigerians still strongly support Tinubu’s administration.
He said, “What is emerging is a national consensus to support good governance.
“By 2027, Nigerians will not hesitate to reaffirm their trust in a leader who delivers.”
Oladejo stressed that Tinubu was freely elected by Nigerians across all regions and faiths, adding that his Renewed Hope Agenda was already producing visible results in economic stabilization and infrastructure development.
He mocked the opposition’s talks of forming a coalition, describing it as “laughable” and bound to collapse under the weight of conflicting interests and personal ambitions of leaders like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Nasir El-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi.
Oladejo also urged Tambuwal to focus on addressing corruption allegations from his tenure as Sokoto governor instead of making unfounded political claims.
According to him, while the opposition engages in “media politics,” the APC remains committed to delivering jobs, roads, power reforms, and economic recovery for Nigerians.
