The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 28-year-old man, Bless Johnson, for allegedly defrauding unsuspecting members of the public of over ₦9 million.
NSCDC spokesperson, DSC Nyako Baba, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday.
He explained that the suspect was apprehended on September 2, 2025, in Timbokum village, Ganye Local Government Area, following credible intelligence and coordinated efforts by officers.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Johnson allegedly swindled at least nine individuals, obtaining a total of ₦9,085,000.
He reportedly lured victims by impersonating influential figures and making false promises of political appointments, job opportunities, and international travel assistance.
“Records show that the victims paid the sums directly into his account.
“During investigations, the suspect refunded ₦1,120,000 to some of them,” the spokesperson stated.
Baba added that further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of Johnson’s fraudulent activities and identify possible accomplices.
