The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognised the new National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to an update published on INEC’s website, former Senate President David Mark has been confirmed as the national chairman of the opposition party.
Other principal officers officially acknowledged by INEC include Rauf Aregbesola – National Secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Mani – National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu – National Financial Secretary, and Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor – National Legal Adviser.
INEC warns early political campaigns pose threat to democracy
With this formal endorsement, the Mark-led leadership is expected to launch nationwide reconciliation and mobilisation efforts as the ADC positions itself to strengthen its political presence ahead of the 2027 general election.
