Two personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) have been abducted in Benue State, with their captors demanding N10 million each for their release.
The officers, identified as Oliver Orasuur and David Shiaondo Iorwuese, were kidnapped along the Katsina-Ala–Ukum Road a few days ago. Family members confirmed that the abductors have since reached out to demand ransom.
In a statement, the NIS described the incident as a “critical moment for the Service” and appealed for urgent intervention and coordinated efforts to secure the safe return of the officers.
The abduction comes just months after a similar case in May, when gunmen stormed the Makurdi residence of another Immigration officer, Simon Agbo, firing shots into the air before whisking him away.
