Supporters of Netanyahu responded with prolonged applause and a standing ovation as he began his remarks, accompanied by his wife, Sara, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

In his address, Netanyahu dismissed international recognition of a Palestinian state as “sheer madness” and vowed that Israel “won’t do it,” calling such recognition “disgraceful.”

He said his speech was being broadcast into Gaza and directly addressed Israeli hostages held by Hamas, assuring them that “we have not forgotten you – not even for a second.”

The address came amid mounting international pressure on Israel to end the war and occupation of the West Bank.

Earlier, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told the UN he rejects any governing role for Hamas in Gaza and demanded the group disarm.
