Olubadan

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has likened the hardship Nigerians are facing under his administration’s economic reforms to the “pain of a painful surgery,” assuring citizens that prosperity lies ahead.

Speaking on Friday at the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, at the historic Mapo Hall, Tinubu said the country’s economy had “turned the corner” and urged Nigerians to remain steadfast.

“Thanks for taking care of me,” the president said in reference to the people of Ibadan.

“Your suffering is a pain of a painful surgery, but it has returned us to the moment of growth, and prosperity is awaiting us ahead.”
