As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, Elder Statesman and former Deputy Governor of old Ondo State, Musa Ayeni, has called on Nigerians to embrace agriculture as a key driver of national development.
Speaking on the occasion, Ayeni highlighted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda provides a solid framework to transform agriculture into a modern, job-creating, and export-oriented sector.
He emphasized that strategic investments in mechanization, irrigation, and value-chain development could enable Nigeria to achieve self-sufficiency in food production, generate millions of jobs for youth, and position the country as a continental leader in agricultural exports.
“Our independence must remind us not only of where we are coming from but where we must go. Agriculture is the bridge to a stronger, self-reliant Nigeria,” Ayeni stated. He urged collaboration between government, private sector, and citizens to turn this vision into reality.
Ayeni congratulated Nigerians on the occasion and called on leaders at all levels to embrace the Renewed Hope Agenda, placing agriculture at the center of sustainable national development.
