The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Abdulazeez Gbadebo, a station manager with Emadeb Energy Service Limited, over allegations of criminal breach of trust and diversion of company funds totaling N500 million.
His arrest followed a petition filed by the company, which claimed that an external audit revealed how Gbadebo manipulated pump meters to sell bulk petrol and diesel to customers, diverting the proceeds into his personal bank accounts.
According to EFCC investigators, the suspect used the funds to acquire luxury cars, including Mercedes Benz and Mini Cooper vehicles, as well as landed properties and a three-bedroom bungalow.
He was also found with documents such as a certificate of occupancy and an authorization letter from the Kaduna Geographical Information System (KADGIS).
The EFCC confirmed that Gbadebo will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
