The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has sacked two of his aides with immediate effect.
The affected aides include the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Support Services, Joseph Ikpak, and Special Assistant to the Governor on Neighbourhood Watch, Felix Ekuri.
Eno also appointed Elsie Peters as the new Head of Service for the state, following the retirement of Effiong Essien from service.

The Secretary to the State Government, Enobong Uwah, announced this in a statement on Monday, November 17, 2025.
Uwah stated that the measure was part of the administration’s restructuring and alignment towards the success of the Renewed Hope and Arise Agenda of the Akwa Ibom State Government.
