The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the planned reception for the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC said a new date for the event would be announced later.
According to the statement, the postponement is in honour of members of the armed forces and civilians recently killed by terrorists, as well as victims of abductions, including students kidnapped in Kebbi State.
The party commended the bravery and sacrifice of Nigeria’s military personnel, noting that they continue to risk their lives to safeguard the nation.
“As we mourn the death of our dear compatriots, we pray for the safe return of our innocent students taken from their families by forces of evil,” the statement said.
The APC also expressed sympathy to families affected by the recent tragedies and assured Nigerians of the federal government’s unwavering commitment to ending terrorism, insurgency and banditry across the country.
The party reaffirmed that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration remains resolute in bringing perpetrators of these violent acts to justice.
