Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has obtained his membership card of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
El-Rufai, who dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier this year, has since been advocating for the removal of President Bola Tinubu from office in the 2027 presidential election.
The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) completed his registration and received his ADC membership card at the party’s U/Sarki Ward office in Kaduna State on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

He arrived at the venue with his supporters, including former aides and several local government chairmen.

El-Rufai quit the APC on March 10, stating that a growing mismatch between his principles and the party’s recent direction compelled his departure.
In his resignation letter, the former governor criticised the APC leadership, saying the party had strayed from the progressive ideals it was initially built upon.
