The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has commenced enforcement actions on 1,095 property titles in Abuja after owners failed to pay Ground Rent, Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills, Penalty/Violation fees, and Land Use Conversion fees.
The affected properties are located in the high-profile districts of Asokoro, Maitama, Garki, and Wuse.
The FCTA had issued repeated public notices between May and November this year, through national newspapers, television stations, and online platforms, urging defaulters to settle their financial obligations.
According to a statement released on Friday, the enforcement actions were approved by the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON.
“Despite several notifications, the underlisted property holders have failed to comply, contravening Section 28, Subsections 5(a) and (b) of the Land Use Act and the terms of their Rights of Occupancy,” the notice read.
The FCTA said that after the expiration of a 14-day final grace period on November 25, 2025, enforcement would proceed on 835 properties for unpaid Ground Rent and 260 properties for defaulting on Violation Fees and Land Use Conversion Fees.
The Administration urged all property owners in the FCT to comply promptly with financial obligations to avoid similar enforcement measures.
