The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that its C-130 aircraft, which earlier made a precautionary landing during a ferry flight, has safely continued its journey and landed in Banjul, The Gambia.
The aircraft had earlier transited Accra, Ghana, in line with an updated flight plan and is en route via Casablanca to Portugal for scheduled depot maintenance.
In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, explained that ferry flights for aircraft undergoing maintenance are conducted through designated airfields, with movements properly spaced in line with established aviation safety procedures.
He assured that all personnel on board are safe and that the aircraft remains serviceable.
The Nigerian Air Force expressed appreciation to the authorities in Ghana, The Gambia, and other countries overflown for the support and cooperation extended to the crew. It also acknowledged the concern and goodwill shown by Nigerians.
The Service reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism in all its operations.
