The West African cinema industry recorded a strong performance in 2025, generating a total of N15.6 billion in box office revenue from theatrical film releases across the region.

Compiled by FilmOne Entertainment, the figures show that approximately 2.79 million moviegoers attended screenings in 122 cinemas during the year.

A total of 248 films — including local and international titles — were shown across screens in the subregion.

According to the scorecard, 16 movies grossed more than N200 million each at the box office, while 14 Nollywood films earned over N100 million individually.

The average cinema ticket price for the year was N5,596.

Among the top performers, Behind The Scenes emerged as the highest‑grossing Nollywood title of the year.

FilmOne Entertainment also ranked as the highest‑grossing distributor, while animated film Zootopia 2 led its category and Sinners topped among Hollywood releases.

The data reflects a growing appetite for both local and international films across West African cinemas.
