Nigerian musicians Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the defunct P-Square duo, have put an end to their feud that stemmed from the 2023 general elections.
The disagreement began during the election season when the two artistes clashed over their opposing views on the presidential ambition of Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi.
At the height of the dispute, Seun Kuti described Obi as an “opportunist,” a remark that drew a sharp response from Mr P, who questioned Kuti’s relevance and accomplishments in the music industry.
The exchange quickly escalated into a heated social media confrontation.
However, recent developments suggest that the long-standing rift has been resolved.
The two were recently spotted exchanging warm greetings at a nightclub in Lagos.
A video of the encounter, which surfaced online on Saturday, showed Kuti and Okoye embracing and shaking hands.
In the clip, Kuti was heard saying, “We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians,” a sentiment Mr P appeared to agree with as both men reconciled.
