The compound of the District Head of Tumu in Akko Local Government Area, Gombe State, has become a temporary shelter for hundreds of internally displaced persons (IDPs) fleeing recent attacks by armed bandits in Galadima and Sabon Kaura communities.
Men, women, and children are reportedly taking refuge at the residence, many showing visible signs of distress.

Local authorities and community members have begun coordinating aid and support for the displaced families.
The humanitarian situation remains critical, with large numbers of women and children exhibiting trauma and exhaustion following the attacks.

As banditry continues to escalate in parts of Gombe State, the plight of these displaced persons highlights the urgent need for attention and intervention to prevent further suffering.
