Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equitable development, promising that all local governments in Kaduna State will benefit from road projects.
Speaking at the commissioning of the reconstructed 23-kilometre Madauchi–Kafanchan road, including the branch to Matsirga waterfalls linking Jema’a and Zangon Kataf local governments, the Governor highlighted efforts to reverse decades of uneven development.
“Previously, twelve local governments did not see a single road project in twelve years.
“Our administration is addressing this imbalance,” he said.
Governor Sani noted that the road, which he broke ground for in July 2024, now fulfills that commitment.
He added that since the inception of his administration, about 140 road projects covering 1,335 kilometres have been initiated across the state.
Of these, 66 roads have been completed, with others at various stages of execution.
The Governor explained that the newly commissioned road is a crucial link connecting settlements in the Bajju Chiefdom, including Kankada, Madakiya, Rebok, Tsorian, Wadon, Adwan, Fadan Kaje-Gida, Matsirga, and Fantswam.
It also strengthens connectivity between Zangon Kataf and Jema’a Local Government Areas and serves as an alternative route to the Zonkwa–Samaru–Kagoro axis, cutting travel time between Kafanchan and Zonkwa by nearly half.
Highlighting its economic importance, Governor Sani said the road traverses agriculturally productive communities, reducing post-harvest losses, enhancing farmers’ competitiveness, and supporting local value chains.
“Beyond its economic benefits, this project represents equity, inclusion, and fairness in public investment,” he added.
“Zangon Kataf is among the twelve local governments that were neglected for over twelve years.
“That prolonged neglect constrained economic activity and limited opportunities for our people. That reality is unacceptable.”
Governor Sani pledged that his administration would continue to ensure inclusivity and fairness, emphasizing that every resident of Kaduna State deserves equal treatment regardless of geography, religion, or ethnicity.
